The complete process takes about two weeks.
First the new clay is prepared for use..then the piece is made as a slab
or wheel creation..natural drying follows...
then the first (bisque) firing for about 8 hours to 1850 F.
Application of glaze is next, followed by the final firing for completion. Another 8 hours and about 2200 F.
Dinnerware items are then dishwasher and oven safe.
All clays and glazes are food safe and non toxic.
We fire in electric kilns for all regular and tableware items.
Sometimes....we use a small gas kiln for raku and similar work.
